Stories of the Land: A day of Indigenous Storytelling - Free Admission

Dates: Friday, June 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

We invite First Nation, Metis, Inuit children, parents, and local school classrooms and homeschool groups ages 6-12 years old (Grades 1-5) to join us for a cultural learning experience.

Highlights:

  • Story walk with Kristi White (Boys with Braids)
  • Animal stories and puppet experience (Living Stories across Turtle Island)
  • Indigenous craft demonstrations
  • Sacred fire and storytelling with Elder and Knowledge Keepers
  • Garden learning and sensory exploration
  • Plant medicine and sweetgrass braiding demo
  • Live drumming with Spirit Nation Singers
  • Clay pot making, colouring and scavenger hunt

Pre-registration is required for classrooms. Note: This is a rain or shine event, please dress for the weather
