Painting with Thread: Reimagining Hand Embroidery

On exhibit September 26, 2020 to December 20, 2020 at Schneider Haus

Imagine a world beyond the hoop! Hand embroidery is an art form that stitchers across the world adore, including our artist in residence, Sarah Godfrey. Sarah's greatest passion is exploring what lies beyond the traditional hoop. While she enjoys creating beautiful wall hangings, her work experiments with different fabric choices and functional pieces like upcycling clothing.

Schneider Haus Artist-in-Residence Sarah Godfrey explores embroidery as a marriage of illustration and fibre art. This exhibit demonstrated her love of nature, colour, and whimsy in a collection of hoop art pieces, upcycled garments, and paintings/drawings.
