Get your game on and transform into bees, bats and butterflies in the vibrant world of the Amazing Pollinators. The centrepiece of the exhibit is a visually stunning, playable maze. Hundreds of beautiful interactive flowers are spread across nine environments like lotus flowers in the rainforest, saguaro cactus in the desert, and moon flowers glowing in the black-lit night room, just for nocturnal pollinators.

Arctic Voices takes visitors to the fascinating and changing world of the Arctic, through interactive and object-based exhibits and multimedia experiences. Visitors explore the Arctic through the sights, sounds, and voices of this beautiful and changing place. Discover the wildlife, marvel at the landscapes, and meet the people who call the Arctic home.

The AI Exhibit presents a unique opportunity to educate people of all ages about artificial intelligence. In doing so, it will inspire people to learn more about AI, and perhaps investigate how AI will be part of their future—as end users and even as developers.

Visit BEES! and explore the Big Idea that Bee health and diversity reflect the impact of human actions on the environment. Pollinators, including bees, are responsible for one in every three bites of food humans consume. Despite their indispensable role in the Earth's ecosystem, bee populations have been declining for decades. This immersive and engaging exhibit challenges people's existing knowledge about bees, and shares information that inspires awe and respect for this sophisticated insect.

St. Mary’s General Hospital is no exception. Explore a century of care through untold stories, personal accounts, and interesting artifact.

Black And Free is an artistic and academic experience that deepens, enlivens and expresses themes of blackness and freedom projecting expansive visions of what that could be for engaged, curious and casual members of the public. The exhibition will feature Ontario-based emerging and established Black artists who were commissioned to create new artwork that explores the theme of blackness and freedom. 

Schneider Haus is home to two exhibits as part of CAFKA.25: Field Guide to the Understory. Visit to see "This land is my land, this land is your land” by Don Kwan and In the Room Alone by Miles Rufelds.

Through a blend of history, ecology, and Indigenous and settler narratives, this captivating exhibit examines the profound and dynamic connection between the Grand River, Cambridge’s heritage, and our collective future. 

Dibaajimowin highlighted the Indigenous contributions to the history of this land. Contributions often overlooked in favour of the well established settler narrative. A narrative represented in the familiar set of murals painted by Selwyn Dewdney in 1950.

Dibaajimowin invited visitors to recognize how the way they look at things has been shaped. And, offers an opportunity to look a little closer at the richness and depth of the stories that need to be told.

Earth in Focus: Insights from Space, a special exhibition developed by the Canada Science and Technology Museum in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency explores the advantages and benefits of observing the Earth from the unique point of view of space.

Who was the Victorian woman? Women have always been active and important members of the communities where they live, work, and grow, and the women of this area are no exception. In honour of International Women's Day, McDougall Cottage will be launching an exhibit showcasing what life was life for local Victorian women. F

This exhibition allows you to explore how certain innovative technologies used in transportation have been largely inspired by nature. Discover nearly thirty natural specimens and technological objects sharing common principles.

In this act of burial is a public installation exploring public memory, developed over the course of site visits, studio visits, and engagement with Regional archival material. Borrowing visual cues from wheatpasted panels and public notice boards, the installations on the lawns of the Regional museums (Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, Schneider Haus National Historic Site, and McDougall Cottage Historic Site) occupy public space to nudge the project of public memory work beyond the walls of the museum. 

Jasbaa – meaning passion in Rohingya - is at the heart of this exhibit. Artists by nature are passionate, and the Rohingya people are passionate about maintaining their traditions, language, and song under the harshest of conditions.

Showcasing paintings (roñgor akaa), photography (sóbí), poetry (sher/kabitha), and embroidery (hátór fúl túla) produced by Rohingya community members living in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Canada, Jasbaa is a celebration of Rohingya resilience, dignity, and self-expression.

During the early time of the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, it was necessary to reconsider the question of safety in the home through the lens of domestic violence. In Matrilineal Hauntings, the artworks of Kathy Kranias express the somatics of resting, stretching and surging toward freedom. They acknowledge the ghostly apparitions of violence which sometimes haunt the spaces of domestic architecture. 

This augmented exhibit explored specific Anishinaabeg foods by combining knowledge from Iskatewizaagegan #39 Independent First Nation (also known as Shoal Lake #39 First Nation) with handcrafted items by local Anishinaabe artists from First Nations communities in Ontario. Each Nation has its own unique traditions and customs, but many practices are relatable and share similar experiences on the land. 

Schneider Haus Artist-in-Residence Sarah Godfrey explores embroidery as a marriage of illustration and fibre art. This exhibit demonstrated her love of nature, colour, and whimsy in a collection of hoop art pieces, upcycled garments, and paintings/drawings.

PAŔDA means “veil” or “curtain” and is used to “cover, wrap or hide” in a lot of cultures dating back into the 7th century. The use of the word PAŔDA in the exhibit is a metaphor meant to shed light on the concealing of trauma experienced by South Asian women within their lifetime. 

PAŔDA a visual emotional portrayal of the women who are in the different parts of their trauma journeys.  This is their story captured by the lens of Artist Prachi Rathaur.

Anchored in the history of the 165-year-old Cottage, located in downtown Cambridge, the exhibit features a multimedia journey of shared personal stories of resiliency and offers resources and strategies to help our community bounce back from life’s challenges.

Experience the artistry of Japanese paper cutting or (Kiri-e) in our new exhibit The Art of Paper Cutting featuring the work of Waterloo, Ontario Artist, Mark Yungblut. Featuring works created from pictures of his travels to Japan, this exhibit gives a glimpse into this intricate art form.

What has it meant to be a woman in Canada throughout its 150-year history? This nationally travelling exhibit, created and toured by the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, explores how women have transformed Canadian politics, work, and everyday life. 

UN/COVERINGS is a multimedia, fashion-based installation that invites visitors to challenge their own biases and stereotypes around religious head coverings.

This exhibition at Martin House, in the heart of Doon Heritage Village, invites visitors to reflect on the ways that different histories that have shaped the cultural fabric of Waterloo Region, can exist side by side.
